This week Minority Care International partnered with the University of Southeastern Philippines to hold a faculty development seminar entitled Online Collaboration: Teaming Across the Web and Across Borders. Dr. Kay Mizell, a Senior US Fulbright Specialist, led the discussion. Dr. Edna Jalotjot, also US Fulbright Alumni, chaired the session.

In an increasingly sophisticated technological world, the classroom becomes a critical learning environment for millennial students. New technologies and effective educational practices may enhance the teaching and learning in online collaboration, in interdisciplinary approaches, and in cross-cultural activities. Researched and proven curricula and environment design can offset
some of the disadvantages of web-based pedagogy. As in any higher education learning, faculty attuned to student needs, course objectives, content-laden curricula, and effective delivery through a variety of modes will improve
student learning.
