Engagement in study groups outside of class can have many benefits for our students. Minority Care International Student Association (MCISA) provides students with valuable skills that cannot necessarily be learned from sitting in a classroom. When MCISA resumed its weekly study forum for 2025-2026 this month, MCISA President Jeremy Jimlan underlined the importance of joining MCISA's study forum. Engaging in MCISA weekly study forum's discussions equips students with the necessary life skills to express themselves articulately in a formal  environment, navigate and critically evaluate  information, and engage in respectful and constructive dialogues. President Jimlan talked about how weekly  discussions offer numerous benefits for students actively participating in the forum. It is important to consider the design and facilitation of these discussions to ensure their effectiveness. Additionally, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning community is crucial to promote meaningful engagement and active participation.

MCISA weekly discussions can be valuable for fostering communication and exchanging ideas. Constructivism plays a pivotal role in higher education due to its emphasis on active learning, critical thinking, and the development of lifelong skills. It is not a secret that helping others and contributing to one’s community through positive, impactful action  makes people feel good. For students, spending some time volunteering can be very helpful in many ways. MCI’s weekly forum gives students the opportunity to give their times and talents to support a cause that’s important and close to their hearts. Giving back to the community helps students to reflect own their own contribution. MCI’s weekly study forum offers skill-building opportunities while improving the lives of others. The hands on learning projects like Tools for School, eye care distributions, and food banks for PDL give students the competitive edge needed as they enter the job market since that have already participated in service learning and charitable work.

MCI weekly study forums also teach students the importance of the time management as they are forced to learn how to balance their organization responsibilities with their academics. MCI Student Association emerges as a vibrant avenue for social engagement. Joining MCI Students Association can yield long term benefits, thereby, enhancing student's university experiences, promoting personal growth, and great memorable times.
