By Shaira Arida, Tourism Management Major at U of Mindanao MCI had reason to celebrate because another batch of college MCI scholars received their degrees from the University of Mindanao in Davao City on August 26, 2025. Theresa Adil graduated with a degree in Social Work, and Farhana Undin with a degree in Mathematics. It is gratifying to see the impact the MCI program has made in the lives of many Filipinos and their families. MCI supported their efforts through the years, and we are extremely proud of these students who have persevered all the way through college to the graduation and received a college degree to improve their futures. Theresa Adi studied hard and strove to get good grades, so that with Adil’s determination and the help of MCI mentorship and its financial support she was able to graduate at the top of her class. When her family was facing financial hardship, MCI stepped in and assisted Ms. Adil so she could attend college and be awarded her BS. Always, setting high goals for herself, she was recognized for her efforts and received an academic Excellence. “MCI mean lot to me; actually, it means everything to me. More than meeting my educational needs, it served holistic needs. MCI molded us, gave us all the tools that we need to succeed, and guided is to a brighter future.”
As a young girl, Farhana Undin loved learning. With the help of MCI and her passion for learning, Ms. Undin was able to get a degree in Mathematics from the University of Mindanao. “I hope that I can also be an instrument of change for the future. Being a Scholar of MCI has taught me that and so much more.”
